About me
I am a junior, Communication major concentrating in journalism at George Mason University . I have minors in both Global Affairs and Conflict Analysis and Resolution. I am now a staff writer for George Mason’s student newspaper, “The Broadside,” and have been an active Mason Ambassador for three years.
My hometown, Hampton, N.H. , was a beautiful place to grow up. Living right on the ocean gave me an appreciation for the Earth’s natural beauty. Seeing such a vast ocean in front of me always kept my grounded, realizing how small we all are in this big world.
My parents, both educators, taught me that I could dream big, but only if I was willing to work hard. This work ethic has carried me a long way in life and in my educational career.
I hope to simply learn in this class, as with in everything I do. I recognize that there is a great deal about the blogging world that I don’t know about.
My family means the world to me. Traveling so far away from home to attend college was a hard transition for everyone, but it has made all the difference in the world for me as a person. I have learned to take care of myself, rather than relying on someone else to find an answer for me.
My grandfather told my parents to “give us roots and wings: roots so we know where our home is, and wings so that we can soar.” I believe he was right. I know where my home is and always will be, but I am ready to soar into the big world in front of me.
